Welcome to a year full of learning, respect, and fun for you in my classroom! First off, let me introduce myself. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching both from the University of Louisville, graduating in the spring of 2002. I also have a Master’s Degree as a Reading and Writing Specialist from the University of the Cumberlands, graduating in 2012. I am going into my 21st year of teaching. I taught six years at Bernheim Middle and the rest has been at Mt. Washington Middle. I am excited to get the school year going and to work with each and every one of you.
Here are some policies for my classroom.
Homework Policy: Homework, which can consist of reinforcement tasks, working on a piece of writing of your creation, projects, studying for tests/quizzes, among other things, will be given almost every night. Generally, class time will be given to complete assignment(s). Most assignments will be done on Google Classroom. There will be writing pieces that will be written on a Google Doc to practice for the state assessment.
Grading Policy: I follow the grading policy set forth by the Board of Education.
Conduct: Student's behavior in the classroom reflects not only on their performance, but also on every other student's. It is necessary that each child follow not only the school rules, but the classroom rule as well. The classroom rule is as follows: Respect in all ways in all directions! This means:
Parents and Guardians are always welcome in my classroom. Please let me know if you would like to do so. If you have any questions, concerns, or need to speak with me, please feel free to call me at the school. You can also e-mail me at [email protected]. I look forward to having an outstanding year with you.
